Join us as Camp Bunn
celebrates its 50th season, and is growing to better serve our Scouts

Since 1972 Camp Bunn, originally Camp Self Reliant, has changed and grown to meet the needs of our Scouting Family. Over the years we have added pavilions, updated program areas, and completed many other major improvements.

Now, as we enter our 50th season, Scouts and Leaders have identified a need for more year round camping facilities. With the approval of the ALC Executive Board we are excited to launch the 50th  Anniversary Cabin Expansion project.

Through several phases, our goal is to construct a multi use Four season cabin, making Camp Bunn available for camping and events regardless of the weather.

Phase one is currently underway, with key staff and volunteers working on final design. This phase is slated to be finalized in early 2022, ideally allowing for construction to start before the 2023 Summer Camp Season.

Phase two is funding. It is estimated that a minimum of $300,000 will be needed to properly construct and outfit the cabin as well additional funding for ongoing maintenance reserves. These fundraising efforts are aimed at additional gifts, above and beyond annual giving as to not impact operations of the Council and Camps. Additional funds not used for construction will be placed in an endowment to fund future cabin maintenance.

Phase three will be construction and finishing. Using a combination of professional contractors and volunteer work days, we feel that this cabin will add quality facilities to our property, and allow our Scouts and Leaders to have a personal ownership in the Camp.
